Reading Wagon

As a teacher, I know how important it is to let little readers choose their books by their covers. Most classrooms these days have "book baskets" as opposed to shelved books for this reason. So, while setting up my little man's "big boy room", it was important to make his book collection a primary focus, keeping in mind that I wanted the book covers visible, not the spines. Since the room colors are blue, beige, and red, I knew that my old wagon would look great and serve the purpose. It had been outside, under the carport, for years holding all of my gardening supplies. I hosed it off and then brought it inside for a more thorough cleaning. I arranged the books in three sections, based on size. I didn't have enough room for all of his books, so I put his board books that are rarely read anymore in a basket under the wagon. Here's the final product:

We're so happy with our FREE book storage - so much better than a bookshelf!
